This event, now established as a cultural benchmark in the archipelago, will maintain its essence of multiculturalism, environmental sustainability, and musical fusion, principles promoted since its creation in 2004.
The official presentation of the festival was attended by the president of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Lola García; the mayor of the La Oliva Town Council, Isaí Blanco; the island's Culture counselor, Rayco León; and the Culture councilor, David Hernández.
“"The festival maintains intact the philosophy promoted by its creator since its inception in 2004: multiculturalism, environmental sustainability, and musical fusion as its hallmark."
The artistic direction for this commemorative edition, which had been resumed by the founder herself before her passing, will now be taken over by her son, along with the organizing team. He has stated that the vision for the festival is not nostalgic, but rather a reaffirmation of its unique character within the international festival scene.
The lineup for FEM 2026 will include artists of various styles and origins, such as musician Antonio Carmona, afrobeat icon Femi Kuti, artist Pongo, and the band Eskorzo. Also participating will be La Sra. Tomasa, Queralt Lahoz, Kumbia Boruka, and the duo Chanela Clicka. Local representation from Fuerteventura will come from Marta Umpiérrez, Arife, and DJ Woodhands.
The organizing institutions invite the public to enjoy the festival while upholding the environmental commitment that has characterized FEM since its inception. In addition to night concerts, the event will offer daytime programming and the participation of local cultural groups, solidifying its position as an essential event in the musical calendar of the Canary Islands.
