The Museum of Nature and Archaeology (MUNA) is once again joining Plenilunio 2026, an event promoted by the Sociedad de Desarrollo de Santa Cruz aimed at revitalizing the city through various cultural, artistic, musical, sports, and culinary disciplines. Activities will take place throughout the weekend of October 3rd and 4th at different venues across the capital.
Following the success of previous editions, MUNA is once again supporting this leisure program, characterized by its strong cultural focus. This time, as part of Musa México 2026, the museum is organizing free guided tours of the temporary exhibition «Concomitancias. Legados, presencia y futuros indígenas en México y Canarias». Additionally, several thematic workshops will be offered: piñatas, contemporary embroidery, and catrina makeup. Museum entry will be free on these days.
The guided tours, lasting 45 minutes with a capacity of 20 people, are free with prior registration. There will be four sessions on Saturday, October 3rd (10:30, 11:30, 17:00, and 18:00 h) and two on Sunday, October 4th (10:30 and 11:30 h).
The exhibition «Concomitancias» explores the historical connections between Canary Islands and Mexico, revealing cultural and symbolic parallels, and highlighting the indigenous legacy in both territories. The exhibition is inspired by the reflections of Fernando Estévez González (1953–2016).
The workshops are also free with prior registration. On Saturday, October 3rd, a family workshop on Mexican piñatas (two hours, for ages 14 and up accompanied) will be held from 11:30 to 13:30 h, and a contemporary embroidery workshop on fabric bags with Mexican designs (three hours, ages 14 and up) from 16:00 to 19:00 h. On Sunday, October 4th, a catrina makeup and Day of the Dead workshop (one hour and thirty minutes, capacity for 8 people) will have two sessions at 11:00 and 12:30 h.
