A total of 16 unemployed individuals will benefit from this initiative, which will run for twelve months in locations such as Castillo de Lara, Parra Medina, and Gavias del Cárcel. The main objective is to protect, restore, and enhance these valuable natural resources of the island.
The President of the Council, Lola García, welcomed the participants, highlighting that the plan is co-financed by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and the Government of the Canary Islands, through the resources of the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN). García emphasized the importance of island-level active employment policies for the labor market integration of vulnerable groups, noting that since the beginning of the legislature, 17.5 million euros have been allocated to employment plans.
For her part, the Minister of Employment Promotion, Nuria Cabrera, underscored the institution's commitment to these plans, which offer real employment opportunities and carry out public service tasks in sensitive areas such as heritage and the environment. This plan aims to significantly contribute to the improvement of the environment, biodiversity, and ecosystems, in line with the principles of protection and sustainable development of Biosphere Reserve territories.
Also present at the presentation was the Minister of Environment, Carlos Rodríguez, who congratulated the plan members for their work and highlighted the results achieved so far.
