The counselor for Fuerteventura Film Commission, Nereida Calero, highlighted during the presentation the growing number of audiovisual productions hosted on the island, which has already seen about ten series and films this year. "We want this growth to also translate into opportunities for our island's talent," she stated, adding that the goal is for Fuerteventura residents to acquire knowledge and for companies to be able to select local professionals.
The 2026 training program is divided into two blocks. The first, held between May and July, covered set design, screenwriting, and sound post-production. The second block, scheduled from September to December, introduces five new training proposals tailored to the current demands of the audiovisual sector.
The courses in the second block include: 'Sound in Audiovisual Projects' (September 28 - October 2), taught by filmmaker José Luis Valdivia; 'Cinematographic Lighting' (October 26-30), led by Óscar González, a recognized head electrician in the Canary Islands; and 'Professional Makeup Applied to Audiovisual Media' (November 9-13), taught by makeup artist Francis Bodí.
Rounding out the training offerings are the 'Photography Applied to Film and Television' course (November 16-20), taught by set photographer Cecilia Bayonas, and 'Wig Making' (November 30 - December 4), taught by Paco Rodríguez, a professional with experience in over 60 productions.
