The Cabildo de Fuerteventura, through the Service for Information and Prevention of Addictions (SIPA), will provide training titled ‘The Addicted Brain’ on July 23rd, aimed at socio-health professionals.

The Service for Information and Prevention of Addictions (SIPA), under the Social Action Department of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, has opened registration for a training activity focused on addictive behavior. The session, titled ‘The Addicted Brain’, will take place on July 23rd, from 09:00 to 14:00 hours.
This educational initiative will be led by health psychologist Romen Hernández Díaz and is intended for socio-health technical staff on the island, from both the public sector and social and private organizations. Registrations are now open via a link provided by the organizers.
The primary goal of the activity is to explore addiction from multiple perspectives, including neurobiological, social, and anthropological, aiming to develop new intervention strategies. These strategies will focus on fostering the recovery of willpower, autonomy, and personal transformation capacity for those affected.
According to statements from the Minister of Social Action, Víctor Alonso, the training will utilize an active and experimental methodology. Theoretical content will be combined with group dynamics, practical case studies, and shared personal reflection, facilitating the identification of social and anthropological factors influencing addictive behaviors.
Alonso also emphasized the importance of adapting administrative tools to the "new reality" and "new societal behaviors," with the aim of building a "fairer and more balanced" society.
