The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has initiated the distribution of olive oil produced at the Pozo Negro Agricultural Experimental Farm, corresponding to the 2026 campaign. The olive harvest, which began on July 28th, has surpassed 46,800 kilograms.

The olive harvest campaign in Fuerteventura, expected to continue until November, has so far received 46,826 kilograms of olives. This data comes from 64 producers on the island, processed in 84 batches at the Cabildo's oil mill service.
This year's weather conditions, including favorable rains and temperatures during the growing season, have contributed to a successful campaign. The President of the Cabildo, Lola García, highlighted the producers' work and commitment, reaffirming the institution's support for the primary sector in producing high-quality oil.
Lola García and the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, Enrique Pérez, thanked the olive growers for their efforts in maintaining the excellence of Majorero oil, which is gaining increasing recognition. They also emphasized the coordination between olive growers and the staff at the Pozo Negro Experimental Farm.
The campaign will continue with different olive varieties. Following the Manzanilla and Arbequina varieties, the harvest of Hojiblanca and Picual is expected in September, concluding in November with the Verdial variety.
The oil mill service at the Pozo Experimental Agricultural Farm of Pozo Negro is crucial for Fuerteventura's olive growers to transform their production, promoting the olive sector and the manufacturing of one of the island's highest quality and most promising products.
