The courses, each lasting 20 hours, aim to enhance the knowledge and practices of the livestock sector regarding animal care during transit. The training will be delivered by José Luis García Gómez Nieves, a veterinary graduate, and complies with current regulations.
The first session will be held from September 21st to 24th at the Centro Polivalente del Valle de Santa Inés, in Betancuria. The second will take place from October 5th to 8th at the Centro Cultural Raíz del Pueblo, in La Oliva. The third is scheduled from October 19th to 22nd at the Palacio de Congresos in Puerto del Rosario, and the fourth, from November 3rd to 6th, at the Cooperativa Agrícola de Gran Tarajal, in Tuineje. All sessions will run from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, Enrique Pérez, highlighted the Cabildo of Fuerteventura's commitment to this initiative, emphasizing that it addresses the sector's needs and promotes better animal welfare practices.
These training activities are part of the projects funded by the Local Action Group GDR Maxorata, largely co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food (MAPA), and the Government of the Canary Islands.
