The Natural Park of Lobos, an emblematic islet of Fuerteventura, is undergoing improvements on one of its main trails. The program 'Fuerteventura, beautiful by nature' is focusing on the path that ascends to the highest altitude of the park, offering panoramic views of the islet, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura island itself.
The Works and Machinery Service of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through its own entity Gesplan, and in collaboration with the Environment Service, is carrying out maintenance on the path leading up to the Lobos volcano. Crews are working on adapting this trail, which is approximately 350 linear meters long.
To enhance accessibility to the volcano, Gesplan workers are using natural stone sourced from the area. To date, improvements with this material have been completed on over 200 linear meters of the path. Additionally, more than 100 square meters of land adjacent to the dirt track have been rehabilitated.
Gesplan expects to conclude the works on Lobos islet next week, thus completing this phase of the landscape and trail improvement program.
