The session addressed the quality and loyalty factors influencing the destination's competitiveness in the British market. The meeting brought together hoteliers, tour operator representatives, and officials from Fuerteventura's tourist municipalities to analyze the current situation of demand from the British market.
Querol's presentation covered the satisfaction levels of Jet2 customers in destinations like Fuerteventura, the factors influencing British traveler loyalty, and the trends of a market increasingly attentive to the quality of the experience. The session continues the joint work between the Tourism Board and Jet2, a tour operator with a significant presence in Fuerteventura's British market, and follows the Board's participation in the company's convention held in Leeds on September 30.
Among the aspects analyzed was the forecast of a punctual adjustment of seats for the winter season 2026/27, in a context marked by evolving demand and rising costs. The Tourism Board shared this information with industry professionals as part of its monitoring of outbound markets, aiming to facilitate planning and adaptation of supply to seasonal prospects.
The Minister of Tourism of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and vice-president of the Island Tourism Board, Marlene Figueroa, emphasized that “getting firsthand knowledge of how one of the main British operators on the island evaluates us is an opportunity we cannot miss. Fuerteventura's competitiveness in the UK market is built on information and the sector's capacity to respond”.
The minister also highlighted that “the British market demands quality and loyalty from us, not just volume. That is exactly the direction the Tourism Board is working in, and the message we wanted to convey today to the entire island's tourism sector”.
The session allowed for an analysis with industry professionals of the British market's prospects for the next season and the factors influencing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
