The event will take place from October 15th to 18th at the Plaza del palacio de Formación y Congresos. The opening conversation, titled ‘Leer abre fronteras’ (Reading Opens Borders), will begin at 7:00 PM in the Carpa Josefina Plá.
The encounter will be moderated by Cadena SER journalist and expert in migration and human rights, Nicolás Castellano. Àngels Barceló, a highly recognized journalist with an extensive career, has led programs such as ‘Hoy por Hoy’ and ‘Hora25’ on Cadena SER for the past two decades. She will converse with Ignacio Martínez de Pisón, author of titles like ‘Fin de temporada’, ‘Filek’, or ‘Ropa de casa’, and winner of the National Narrative Award in 2015 for ‘La buena reputación’.
Following the dialogue, the four-day fair will commence with the participation of approximately thirty authors from the peninsula, the Canary Islands, and Fuerteventura.
The Minister of Culture, Rayco León, indicated that the program, to be announced in the coming days, will also feature concerts, poetry recitals, and stage performances in disciplines such as theater, dance, and circus, which are coming to Fuerteventura after touring major performing arts festivals last summer. Additionally, there will be a children's program, activities for schoolchildren, and the return of the Tren de los Cuentos (Train of Stories).
The Fair is organized by the Centro Bibliotecario Insular (Island Library Center), under the Consejería de Cultura del Cabildo (Department of Culture of the Island Council), with the collaboration of the Government of the Canary Islands.
