The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has presented the fifth edition of the 'I Buy in Fuerteventura' campaign, which will allow citizens to save 50% on their purchases at participating establishments through consumer vouchers available from November 10th.

The initiative, funded with 400,000 euros from the island corporation and developed in collaboration with the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (FAUCA), aims to promote local consumption, enhance the competitiveness of small businesses, and ensure that spending benefits the island's economy.
The President of the Cabildo, Lola García, emphasized the importance of small businesses for Fuerteventura, stating they "generate employment, bring life to our towns and cities, and contribute to keeping the wealth we generate here, on our island." Meanwhile, the insular Minister of Commerce, Lolina Negrín, encouraged businesses to register to benefit families and the local sector.
Abbas Moujir, president of FAUCA, highlighted that up to 37,100 vouchers will be circulated this year, representing an economic injection of over 740,000 euros. The recruitment of participating businesses begins this Monday, with the Christmas shopping season in mind.
The vouchers will be worth 20 euros, with consumers paying 10 euros and the Cabildo covering the other 10. Each person can purchase a maximum of 15 vouchers, linked to their DNI or NIE. They will be available from November 10th at 12:00 PM on the website www.yocomproenfuerteventura.com, until funds are depleted or by January 20th, 2027.
Businesses interested in participating can apply for adhesion starting this Monday, October 26th, at 12:00 PM, via the form on the campaign's website. Businesses included in classifications 64 and 65 and economic activity tax heading 6622 are eligible. A list of participating businesses and available balance can be found on the same platform.
