The activity, organized by the educational center, has used sport as a tool to bring students closer to the reality of people living with epidermolysis bullosa, known as Butterfly Skin. This rare genetic disease causes extreme skin fragility and requires specialized care.
The center has two students diagnosed with this condition, for whom it provides specialized support staff and adapted spaces. This circumstance gives special relevance to raising awareness about Butterfly Skin at CEO Arona, where understanding each student's needs is part of daily coexistence.
Through the run, students have participated in an activity that transcends sports, addressing diversity, inclusion, and respect for differences. The day aims for schoolchildren to understand the challenges faced by individuals with rare diseases and the importance of support from their environment.
The initiative also raises visibility for the work of DEBRA Butterfly Skin, an association that supports affected individuals and their families, working to improve their quality of life through information, advice, and awareness.
With this second edition, CEO Arona continues an activity that combines education, sport, and solidarity, reinforcing the importance of building inclusive school environments.
