A one-year-old baby has been transferred to a hospital in serious condition after being rescued from a swimming pool in Fuerteventura with clear signs of drowning.

A baby girl, just one year old, is in critical condition after being rescued from a swimming pool at an apartment complex located in La Oliva, on the island of Fuerteventura. The incident occurred at 09:50 AM when the 1-1-2 Emergency and Security Coordination Center of the Government of the Canary Islands received the alert.
According to information provided by 1-1-2, the alert indicated that the child had been pulled from the water unconscious and showed evident signs of drowning, requiring immediate medical assistance. First responders on the scene confirmed the minor was in cardiorespiratory arrest and began resuscitation maneuvers.
Personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Medical Service (SUC) and the local health center continued advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts, successfully restoring the child's pulse. She was subsequently airlifted by a SUC medical helicopter to the Materno Infantil University Hospital in Gran Canaria.
Firefighters assisted by securing the area for the helicopter's landing and takeoff at the nearby football field. Police resources were also deployed to the scene to conduct the relevant inquiries and cooperate with the emergency teams.
