A 49-year-old bather was transported this Saturday to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura after suffering a water incident at Cofete beach, in the municipality of Pájara.

The incident occurred during the afternoon, when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 received an alert regarding a person in distress in the water.
Before emergency teams arrived, a surfer in the area managed to pull the man from the sea and bring him safely to the shore.
Following the initial rescue, the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) deployed a helicopter to perform an aerial evacuation of the man to the hospital's helipad.
The Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) reported that the patient showed moderate symptoms of drowning at the time of receiving medical assistance.
