The 'Know to Protect' Environmental Education program, promoted by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, has experienced a notable increase in participation with the start of the school year. In the first fortnight of September, the project received 108 applications from 33 educational centers across the island, representing over 70% of Fuerteventura's schools. This figure consolidates the program's extensive offerings, designed to bring natural values closer to the population and foster responsible attitudes towards conservation.
Since last summer, 'Know to Protect' has strengthened its activities for educational centers, social groups, and associations in various municipalities of Fuerteventura and other islands, surpassing 2,000 participations. The activities have covered topics such as waste reduction and recycling, coastal conservation, wildlife recovery, knowledge of Majorera biodiversity, and interpretive trails through natural spaces. The proposals have combined workshops, talks, visits, and itineraries adapted to the characteristics of each group.

The minister stated that the Cabildo de Fuerteventura reaffirms its commitment to environmental education as an essential tool for promoting responsible habits and citizen involvement in the island's natural heritage conservation.
The program's activities reach participants from all municipalities of Fuerteventura and have been adapted to different ages and profiles, including students from Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education, as well as associations, social projects, and summer groups.
