'Fuerteventura Protagonista' project kicks off with the first Municipal Community Hubs in Antigua and Pájara, aiming to strengthen neighborhood collaboration.

The municipalities of Antigua and Pájara will host the first informational meetings for the 'Fuerteventura Protagonista' project on October 15 and 16, focusing on the creation of Municipal Community Hubs. This initiative, promoted by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the General Foundation of the University of La Laguna (FGULL), aims to foster participation and community collaboration across the island.
These gatherings will serve to present local initiatives and open a space for dialogue with citizens, associations, collectives, professionals, and administrations. The goal is to identify common interests, recognize existing resources, and promote proposals of general interest, thereby strengthening ties among the residents of neighborhoods and towns.
In Antigua, the meeting will take place on Thursday, October 15, at 7:00 PM in the Senior Center. The proposal «Intergenerational exchange around popular Christmas gastronomy» will be presented, focusing on recovering local recipes and traditions.
Meanwhile, Pájara will hold its meeting on Friday, October 16, at 5:00 PM in the Youth House of Morro Jable. There, the initiative «Associativism Fair of Pájara» will be introduced, aiming to showcase the work of local associations.
The strategy will progressively extend to all six municipalities of Fuerteventura, including Betancuria, La Oliva, Puerto del Rosario, and Tuineje. The project seeks to create spaces where local proposals and capabilities can connect to foster new shared initiatives.
