The fiction series screenplay 'Jauría', set in Fuerteventura in the eighties during the arrival of the legion, has won the DAMA Series award at the fifth edition of IsLABentura.

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Fuerteventura Film Commission, has congratulated Juan Pedro Vera, author of the screenplay Jauría, awarded at the international laboratory IsLABentura 2026. The project narrates the adaptation to the island following the arrival of 5,000 legionary soldiers in the eighties.
For the story's documentation, Juan Pedro Vera conducted interviews with the official chronicler of Fuerteventura, Tero Brito, and the former president of the Cabildo, Gerardo Mesa. He also visited emblematic locations in Puerto del Rosario and areas frequented by the legion at that time, accompanied by veterans.
IsLABentura, supported by the Fuerteventura Film Commission, directed by Nereida Calero, focuses on stories based on locations in the Archipelago. Screenwriters Cristina Naranjo and Juan Pedro Valera worked on the island, receiving advice from the Film Commission and mentorship from Sara Helsinki and Pablo Bartolomé.
The final phase of the laboratory took place in Gran Canaria, where participants presented their screenplays to producers from companies such as Movistar Plus, Secuoya, Naif Films, and Amuse Studio, among others.
