The coach of Dreamland Gran Canaria, Néstor García, shared his thoughts ahead of Sunday's game against Barça. The team has undergone a notable shift in mindset, moving from uncertainty to a strong belief in their ability to surprise at the Palau.
“"We have a very good team. I always say it because it's my life principle, that I am very faithful, God is everywhere for me, for that reason I will never lose faith in my life and I will not negotiate intensity; the players have indeed loosened up."
García highlighted the hard work of his coaching staff and the players' intensity in every practice, as well as the support from the fans. He emphasized the importance of unity and confidence within the team, noting that they have improved their accuracy by playing more freely.
Regarding roster updates, the coach confirmed that a new player will travel and make his debut in Barcelona. He expressed confidence in the qualities this player will bring to the team's game, stressing the intention to compete on equal terms against a formidable opponent like Barça, despite acknowledging their strength in three-point shooting and inside play.
Concerning the situation of another player currently on trial, García explained that his potential signing largely depends on medical reports, as the player is recovering from a significant ankle injury. The final decision is expected by next Wednesday.
Finally, the coach confirmed that a key player will not be available for the Barcelona match due to a minor injury sustained in the last game. However, he is expected to rejoin training next week, taking advantage of the scheduled days off.
