Gran Canaria windsurfer Cristina Iglesias has claimed the U15 world title in the Techno 293 class in Turkey, in a competition where the Spanish delegation, led by coach Isidro Henríquez, achieved outstanding results.

The Spanish windsurfing team delivered an exceptional performance at the Techno 293 World Championship, held in Turkey, securing two world titles, one silver medal, and two bronze medals. This success comes just before the island of La Palma hosts the Spanish Championship for the discipline between April 29 and May 3.
Young sailor Cristina Iglesias, from the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, dominated her category, the U15 female, from the very first day of the regatta. She finished the competition with a five-point lead over Italy's Alessandra Porcu, achieving one first place, three second places, and one third place in the seven races contested.
In addition to Iglesias's gold, her clubmate, Martina Bárbara, earned the silver medal in the Techno Plus U19 female category. Both, along with Leticia Martín (12th in Techno Plus) and coach Isidro Henríquez, are members of the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, which adds new achievements to its already extensive record.
The remarkable Spanish performance was completed with the U15 male world title for Mallorcan Joshua Castro, the bronze medal for Galician Marcos Dasilva, and the U17 female world runner-up title for Sevillian Olivia Sánchez, solidifying a great success for national windsurfing.
