The State Meteorological Agency has issued an orange risk warning for Gran Canaria this Monday, with maximum temperatures expected to reach 37 degrees.

The extreme heat event will primarily affect the summits and the southern, eastern, and western slopes of Gran Canaria. Official data suggests that mid-altitude areas facing south and the Tejeda basin will experience the highest temperatures between 11:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
The weather conditions will also impact other islands in the archipelago, which are currently under a yellow warning. Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and La Gomera are expected to reach maximums of up to 34 degrees in their respective mid-altitude and inland areas.
In addition to daytime temperatures, warmer nights are expected in Gran Canaria. Forecasts indicate that temperatures will not drop below 26 or 27 degrees, which may hinder rest in the areas affected by this weather phenomenon.
