The Plaza Fernando Ortiz Wiot in Las Canteras served as the venue for the finals of the Gran Canaria Open pickleball tournament, an event noted for its high competitive level and increasing international participation.

From early Sunday morning, pickleball took center stage at the court set up in Plaza Fernando Ortiz Wiot, in the Las Canteras area. This event marked the final day of the Gran Canaria Open, which initiated the Pickle Pro Tour.
The Pickle Pro Tour is a national pickleball circuit, promoted in collaboration with the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation. Its primary goal is to foster the competitive development of the sport in Spain, increase its visibility, and provide a professional platform for one of the fastest-growing sports globally.

"We are seeing a very high level of play and increasingly international participation. The circuit is growing not only in numbers but also in quality and projection, and days like today demonstrate this."
