The police operation, launched last July, has successfully dismantled a drug trafficking network using a new route from the island. The four detainees, two couples who had traveled from Toledo, were apprehended during a drug transaction in the cafeteria of a hotel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The suspects had implemented security measures, staying in separate hotels and avoiding contact with each other. One couple was responsible for receiving the drugs, while the other was tasked with transporting them to the Iberian Peninsula using rental vehicles.

Following the arrests, officers seized a suitcase containing 21 kilograms of heroin, hidden within supermarket plastic bags. Subsequently, two residences in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria were searched.
The four individuals were brought before the judicial authority, which ordered their imprisonment for alleged crimes of belonging to a criminal organization and against public health. The investigation remains open to analyze this new drug trafficking route.
