The eleventh edition of the Gran Canaria Grand Pink Run, organized by the Canarian Association of Breast and Gynecological Cancer (ACCM), will be held on November 22 with the aim of gathering over two thousand people for a day of sport and solidarity against breast and gynecological cancer at Las Canteras beach.

The initiative, presented with the support of the Canary Islands Government's Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports, seeks to transform the area around Las Canteras beach into a pink tide of solidarity. Minister Poli Suárez highlighted the importance of such events in mobilizing citizens and using sport as a tool for awareness and support.
Suárez stated that the event is "an example of how sport can become a vehicle for solidarity, awareness, and social participation." He added that institutions must support initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles and create a positive impact on the community, encouraging citizen participation.
The president of ACCM, Marisa Herrera, emphasized that the Grand Pink Run is a gathering where sport, solidarity, and citizen participation unite for a common cause, inviting people of all ages and physical conditions to walk together. The goal is to exceed 2,000 registrations and increase the initiative's visibility.
The presentation event was also attended by the Vice-Minister of Physical Activity and Sports, Ángel Sabroso, along with representatives from collaborating entities such as Hospitales Universitarios San Roque, Ybarra Canarias, the Universidad Fernando Pessoa Canarias, and the Colegio de Gestores Administrativos de Gran Canaria.
The walk will start at 9:30 AM from Plaza Saulo Torón, in Las Canteras, and will cover approximately four kilometers along the maritime avenue to the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium. The route is designed for participation by everyone, prioritizing support for those living with the illness.
The day will feature musical entertainment by the Banda Archipiélago and Batucada Caribe. After the walk, the terrace of the Las Arenas Shopping Center will host recreational activities, including a zumba class with Maestro Joao, performances by Dácil Suárez, and a set by DJ Ulises Acosta.
The main objectives of the Grand Pink Run 2026 are to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and early detection of breast and gynecological cancer, and to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles. The funds raised will support individuals affected by these cancers and their families.
Registration, with a symbolic fee of 12 euros including a commemorative t-shirt and a runner's bag, can be completed at ExpoDeca 2026 and through the TuReservaOnline platform.
