A resident of Valle de los 9 in Gran Canaria experienced moments of anguish when he confronted a pitbull that brutally attacked one of his dogs, which is now recovering from severe injuries.

The incident occurred when Guillermo was walking his two pets and a pitbull, unleashed and unmuzzled, lunged at them. The attack was so sudden and violent that one of his dogs fell to the ground and was repeatedly bitten.

"I had to put my hands in its mouth, frantically, because, honestly, I could have lost my fingers."

Guillermo · Owner of the attacked dog
Guillermo recounts that the struggle lasted at least three minutes, during which the pitbull momentarily released his dog only to attack it again, causing an abdominal tear. In his desperate attempt to protect his animal, Guillermo also sustained injuries to one hand, his eyebrow, and nose.
Although the Police have identified the pitbull's owner thanks to Guillermo's report, the owner denies the facts and disclaims responsibility. Guillermo, however, claims to have seen him with the dog leashed shortly after the incident, describing the owner's attitude as "irresponsible, reckless, and imprudent" for having the animal loose and uncontrolled.
The injured dog faces a complicated recovery due to an infection caused by the bite, which has led to stitches coming loose and the appearance of pus. Guillermo laments the situation and explains that his pet requires daily care and a change in medication to save its life. He suspects the pitbull might be a fighting dog due to its aggressiveness and the way it directly attacked his pet's neck.
