The GC-1 in Gran Canaria experienced a chaotic morning this Monday due to three almost simultaneous traffic accidents northbound, generating significant traffic jams and affecting access to the capital.

This Monday began with significant complications on the roads of Gran Canaria. The GC-1 highway, one of the island's main arteries, recorded three road incidents in the northbound direction, causing extensive queues and considerable traffic congestion, especially during the morning rush hour.
The first incident was reported at 07:07 AM at kilometer 16, near El Goro, just after Gran Canaria Airport. This event involved a rear-end collision between two vehicles, resulting in one person sustaining minor injuries who was attended to by an ambulance from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC).
Just minutes later, at 07:10 AM, a second accident occurred at kilometer 6, near Jinámar. In this case, five vehicles were involved, although fortunately no injuries were reported. The Guardia Civil had to intervene to manage the situation.
The third and final incident took place at 07:27 AM in the La Laja area, also northbound, where a motorcyclist fell. Two SUC ambulances and Guardia Civil personnel were dispatched to the scene to assist the affected individual, whose health status is awaiting assessment.
These three consecutive events created a domino effect, causing kilometer-long traffic jams and significantly hindering transit on one of the island's most important communication routes.
