The vehicle that will transport the Pontiff during the planned events in Gran Canaria and Tenerife is now on the island. The Popemobile completed its transfer from the Torrejón Air Base aboard an aircraft from the Spanish Air Force.
The vehicle's arrival marks another step in organizing a visit expected to draw thousands of people and require a significant security operation. Along with the Popemobile, special vehicles from the National Police have also been transported to participate in the security detail.
Images released by the National Police show the Popemobile and several BMR vehicles being transported on a military aircraft. After landing in Gran Canaria, logistics teams have begun coordinating to finalize the details of the planned routes during the Pontiff's stay.
The presence of the Popemobile on the island is one of the most visible signs that the visit is entering its final preparation phase. This security deployment will involve various security forces and emergency services to ensure the Pontiff's mobility and the safety of the expected thousands of attendees.
Authorities have been working for weeks on planning access, routes, and special measures to manage the high expected public turnout.
