A 58-year-old motorcyclist has been evacuated by a medical helicopter to the Insular University Hospital after suffering severe multiple traumas in a road departure on the GC-130 highway, in Vega de San Mateo.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning, around 10:39 AM, at kilometer 3 of the GC-130, in the Caldera de Los Marteles area. The Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received the alert and quickly dispatched medical and emergency resources.
Personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), including a medical helicopter and a basic life support ambulance, as well as members of the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium, the Civil Guard, and Civil Protection, were deployed to the scene.
Medical staff attended to and stabilized the injured man at the accident site. He presented with several severe traumas and was subsequently airlifted to the Gran Canaria Insular University Hospital for specialized care.
During the operation, firefighters secured the area to facilitate rescue and evacuation efforts. The Civil Guard has initiated the relevant proceedings to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
