Gran Canaria Cabildo's Sports Counselor, Aridany Romero, has confirmed the club has a sporting director and is close to finalizing a coach, dismissing rumors of stagnation.

Aridany Romero, the Sports Counselor for the Gran Canaria Cabildo, has categorically denied any "paralysis" in the management of CB Gran Canaria. Romero stated that the club now has a sporting director and the head coach position is "almost finalized," though he refrained from revealing names until agreements are official.
Information suggests Francesc Solana is the chosen candidate for the sporting director role. With an extensive 14-year tenure at Andorra, where he led the project that returned the team to the ACB league, his appointment is expected around early July. Concurrently, contract terminations and presidential changes are being negotiated.
The decision on the new head coach may be made almost simultaneously with Solana's confirmation. Among the candidates who have gained traction recently is Brazilian coach Bruno Savignani. Savignani has experience in his home country and as an assistant in Europe, including achieving promotion to the ACB with Real Betis.
Romero emphasized that the selection of the sporting director and coach was an internal club process, involving "people connected to basketball, to the CB Gran Canaria of today and yesterday," including those familiar with the competition and individuals "not on the island." He highlighted that work for the upcoming season began "the day after the relegation."

"We have a sporting director and we almost have a coach for next season, but it will be communicated when the time is right."
