The Sonora Festival 2026 has achieved a complete sell-out for the final of its band competition, taking place at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria this weekend.

The final of the competition, which aims to promote musical artists from the archipelago, will be held on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 at 7:30 PM. Tickets for Saturday, the day of the awards ceremony, are already completely sold out, marking a milestone in the festival's history.
This edition has broken participation records, with 195 proposals submitted, and stands out for the quality and diversity of styles among the ten finalist bands. The Alfredo Kraus Auditorium hosts this event for the second consecutive year, featuring performances by Xerach, Pokzipol Poops, Good Franco, Usted, and Lula Mora on Friday; and Belice, Los Blody, Eric Böelle, Bífidos, and Casablanca III on Saturday.
The finalist musical projects hail from Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, and La Palma, offering an eclectic lineup that spans from indie pop and rock to tropical glam rock, psychobilly, delta blues, krautrock, psychedelia, pop, funk, electronic music, and singer-songwriter styles.
SuperEze, host of the podcast No, qué va!!!, will serve as the master of ceremonies for the final. Bands will have 25 minutes to present their proposals to the audience and a specialized jury, who will select the winners of the three cash prizes and the Sonora Passports. The jury is chaired by Carlos Mata, CEO of Taste the Floor.

"The entire proceeds from the grand final will once again be allocated to the Barrios Orquestados project, to continue the work of supporting music from the grassroots."

Santi Gutiérrez · Executive Producer of Sonora
The Sonora 2026 awards include Sonora Gold (6,000 euros), Sonora Silver (3,000 euros), and Sonora Bronze (1,500 euros), all designated for musical promotion. Additionally, the winner will receive a direct pass to perform at the Sonora Festival 2026, scheduled for October 16 to 18 in Plaza de Santa Ana.
The Sonora Passports, expanding their reach this year, will allow finalists to perform at festivals such as Sonidos Líquidos (Lanzarote), Phe Festival (Tenerife), Festival Boreal (Tenerife), Hero Fest (El Hierro), WOMEX GC (Gran Canaria), and Festivalito (La Palma), among others. The event is a co-production by Salán Producciones and the Fundación Auditorio y Teatro de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, sponsored by various Canary Islands public institutions.
