The event's organization confirmed that these musicians, hailing from 23 countries, were selected from over a thousand applications. The lineup includes both emerging talents and established artists, all united by artistic excellence and the exploration of diverse musical styles and cultures.
According to the organization, the independent jury aimed to assemble a lineup that celebrates "borderless creativity" and reflects "the immense musical diversity the world offers." The selected artists work with the musical traditions of their home countries as well as contemporary sounds that transcend traditional stylistic boundaries.
The sole Spanish representative in this initial announcement is A Pedreira, the solo project of Galician singer-songwriter Ugía Pedreira, known for her three-decade career and advocacy for Galician music, blending folk, electronic, and Latin rhythms.
The initial list of 17 artists also includes: Aizhan Sultan (Finland / Kazakhstan), Baile do Mestre Cupijó (Brazil), Carmen Souza (Cabo Verde / Portugal / United Kingdom), Claudio Rabe (Madagascar / La Réunion), Diyet & The Love Soldiers (Canada), Fabiola Méndez (Puerto Rico / USA), Faris Ishaq (Palestine / United Kingdom), Indius (Colombia), Ivo Dimchev (Bulgaria), Kadinelia (Greece), Kaito Winse (Burkina Faso / Belgium), Kasiva Mutua (Kenya), La Ciguë (France), Mehrnam Rastegari (Iran / USA), Sauljaljui (Taiwan), and Soumik Datta (India / United Kingdom).
The festival promises an eclectic mosaic of world rhythms, featuring artists such as Ivo Dimchev, a Bulgarian performer combining black humor, poetry, and cabaret; Aizhan Sultan, a Kazakh singer based in Finland; Baile do Mestre Cupijó, a Brazilian band delivering energetic Amazonian rhythms; Carmen Souza, a Cape Verdean artist blending jazz influences with her Creole roots; Claudio Rabe, a sonic alchemist fusing rock, trance, and psychedelic energy; Diyet and The Love Soldiers, exploring indigenous perspectives; Fabiola Méndez, a Puerto Rican cuatro player focused on her cultural heritage; Faris Ishaq, a Palestinian nay master bridging ancient and modern melodies; and Indius, a Bogotá-based group merging synthesizers with Afro-Colombian percussion.
