A 37-year-old man has been rescued after falling several meters on a trail near Roque Bentayga, in Tejeda, Gran Canaria, this Monday.

The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 received the alert at 13:56 on Monday, October 5, 2026, reporting a person's fall on a trail.
Personnel from the Consorcio de Emergencias de Gran Canaria, Environment Department of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, and the Government of the Canary Islands' Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) were deployed to the scene. Firefighters and Environment staff reached the injured individual to assist healthcare personnel.
Rescuers from the GES helicopter carried out the man's rescue, hoisting him into the aircraft. He was subsequently evacuated to the helipad of the Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín University Hospital.
The Canary Islands Emergency Medical Service (SUC) dispatched a basic life support ambulance and a medicalized ambulance. Healthcare staff assessed and treated the man, who presented with moderate head trauma and multiple contusions.
