Tenerife-born author Andrea Abreu will release her new novel, 'Pajaritos preñados', on September 2nd, six years after the success of 'Panza de burro'.

Anagrama publishing house, now part of the Italian group Feltrinelli, has announced the return of the author from Icod de los Vinos to bookstores with her new work, 'Pajaritos preñados', which will be released on September 2nd. This launch comes six years after her successful novel 'Panza de burro', published in 2020.
Anagrama shared details of the novel on its Instagram profile, describing it as 'the story of Cathaysa, a teenager who grows up in an unforgiving environment and her father, El Tiznado: two paths that separate and reflect each other.' The post included an image of the cover, where the author's name was partially obscured, alongside elements evoking Canarian culture such as a Canarian knife, a green and white checkered tablecloth, chochos, and wine.
This social media marketing strategy, previously used to build anticipation, has contributed to generating interest in the new work. 'Panza de burro' was a critical and public success, selling over 20,000 copies and establishing Andrea Abreu as a significant voice in contemporary Spanish literature. The work was later adapted for the stage by Delirium Teatro.
