This action is carried out through a cooperation agreement with the Association for the Help of Dependent Persons in the Canary Islands (APEDECA), with an investment exceeding 142,000 euros. The main goal is to provide comprehensive care to island residents who face relational fragility or difficulties in accessing basic resources.
The program addresses the current demographic challenges of La Gomera, marked by an aging population and geographical dispersion. The intervention will cover the entire island territory, prioritizing rural areas and those with limited access, ensuring that beneficiaries can remain in their usual environment with better well-being conditions.
“"With this proposal, we strengthen our commitment to social policies aimed at citizens, comprehensive care for the elderly, and the construction of a more inclusive, cohesive, and supportive community."
Planned actions include support for daily activities, emotional care, home safety improvements, and guidance on social benefits. Furthermore, group support and coordination with health services will be promoted to detect situations of vulnerability at an early stage.
