The island's commercial positioning strategy focused on showcasing its attractions to Nordic tourism professionals, aiming to identify new collaboration opportunities. The insular Minister of Tourism, Commerce, and Consumption, María Isabel Méndez, highlighted the importance of these meetings for understanding market needs and reinforcing La Gomera's presence.
Méndez pointed out the affinity of Norwegian travelers with La Gomera's values, such as tranquility, contact with nature, sustainability, and outdoor experiences in a unique environment. The objective is to consolidate the island as a destination that attracts those seeking responsible and respectful travel, valuing its distinct identity.
The event, held between August 25th and 27th, included various professional meetings with tourism offices, airlines, agencies, and tour operators. La Gomera Tourism's participation allowed for updating contacts, learning about marketing trends, and analyzing demand for key products for the island, such as nature and authentic experiences.
“"Our objective is to continue positioning the island in markets that value destinations with their own identity and a responsible and respectful way of traveling with the territory."
This initiative also served to explore future avenues for cooperation and promotion in Norway, a strategic market within the Scandinavian region, and to maintain active listening to its demands.
