In anticipation of Canary Islands Day, residents of La Gomera share their impressions and greetings, including a special message in the traditional Silbo Gomero.

CANARIAS7 newspaper continues its series of special content for the Canary Islands Day celebration, taking place on May 30th. This initiative features a journey across the eight islands, gathering over sixty testimonials to be published in the print edition.
On the island of La Gomera, the festivity is marked with a unique greeting through its distinctive language: Silbo Gomero. Eddy Sierra, an instructor of this ancestral practice, has crafted this special message for CANARIAS7 readers.
In addition to Eddy Sierra's message, readers can learn the perspectives of eight other island residents. These include Ivo, a taxi driver in Alajeró; Lelo, a businessman also from Alajeró; Yésica Herrera, a sales assistant at a local products store; Jonay Día, a greengrocer from the capital's market; Carlos Brito, a photographer; and Ari Gómez, who works in a retail establishment.
