This significant financial allocation seeks to strengthen the island's associative fabric in key areas such as social action, environmental conservation, civil protection, sports, and commercial revitalization. The island president, Casimiro Curbelo, highlighted the strategic importance of these organizations as fundamental pillars for social cohesion and the development of La Gomera.
“"For the Cabildo, the activity of collectives and entities constitutes an indispensable participation tool that allows local demands to be channeled and public will to be transformed into direct impact actions."
In line with this commitment, the Cabildo reaffirmed its intention to continue promoting collaboration mechanisms and funding frameworks that ensure the sustainability and growth of these entities. It was emphasized that supporting associations represents a direct investment in the Gomera identity and guarantees that the island's progress is managed under principles of solidarity and proximity.
For the 2026 fiscal year, a framework has been designed to intensify support, raising the number of nominated subsidies to a total of 72 entities, with an initial allocation of 3.7 million euros.
