The Cabildo of La Gomera has begun the enrollment period for free courses aimed at obtaining certification as a phytosanitary product handler, in both basic and qualified levels.

These training sessions, which will be held in different municipalities on the island depending on demand, aim to facilitate the acquisition of a necessary qualification for the agricultural sector. The insular counselor for the Primary Sector, Noelia Morales, highlighted the importance of this initiative for farmers and field professionals to carry out their work with greater guarantees and comply with current regulations.
The main objective of these training actions is to equip students with the precise knowledge for the correct handling, application, transport, and storage of phytosanitary products, thereby promoting the protection of human health and the environment.
The basic level course, lasting 25 hours, is designed for auxiliary staff or workers directly involved in handling and application. The qualified level, extending to 60 hours, is aimed at those who, in addition to applying, are responsible for organizing, supervising, or making decisions about treatments, as well as sales personnel for professional-use products.
Enrollment for these courses is completely free, and the registration period will remain open until all available spots are filled.
