The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) of La Gomera and its regional leadership have begun coordinating their strategies and programmatic content for the upcoming 2027 elections, addressing key issues for citizens.

In a recent meeting, the socialists of La Gomera, together with the regional leadership of the PSOE, outlined the main pillars they will defend in the next electoral contest. Among the highlighted issues are housing policy, the environmental repercussions of tourism, and the defense of acquired social rights.
The meeting was attended by the Organization Secretary of the PSOE of the Canary Islands, as well as party members and sympathizers. During the gathering, regional general guidelines and specific directives for the island of La Gomera were shared, with the participation of the regional Deputy Secretary of Organization.

"There are many issues we will include in the program for the island because there are so many things to improve and implement, but to mention a few that we will detail later, the complete lack of social housing construction is one of them."

In addition to the lack of social housing construction, other citizen concerns such as holiday rentals and the potential application of a tourist tax were discussed. Another crucial point was the need to improve air connectivity with other islands, especially with connecting flights to Tenerife and Gran Canaria, to ensure residents do not miss out on travel options.
