The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) of La Gomera has highlighted the economic management of the left-wing government in Spain, emphasizing advances in employment and internationally recognized economic figures.

On the occasion of May Day, the political party underscored achievements in social and labor rights, attained through social dialogue. These include maintaining employment through ERTEs, reducing temporary contracts and precariousness, and increasing the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI).

"This day is to highlight the progress made in social and labor rights through social dialogue, such as maintaining employment through ERTEs, reducing temporary and precarious work, and raising the SMI, as well as the historic record of 22 million affiliates to Social Security."

According to projections, Spain's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will grow by 2.2% in 2026, maintaining its leadership in labor market growth within the European Union. Furthermore, Spain is expected to meet its deficit and public debt targets a year ahead of schedule, with the deficit at 1.6% and debt below 100% of GDP by the end of 2026.
The Gomera socialists emphasize that these figures are the result of political decisions aimed at building a fair and progressive Spain. It is noted that the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI) has increased by 66% since 2018, rising from 600 euros to 1,221 euros, doubling the previous amount.
Finally, the party urges citizens to reflect on the consequences of potential setbacks in labor and social rights, warning about the risks posed by right-wing and far-right governments.
