The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party group in the Cabildo de La Gomera has expressed satisfaction with the announcement of the reopening of the El Rejo road, even if with regulated traffic, and the start of work in the area.

The political formation has expressed its joy at confirming that work is finally being carried out on the road, which has been closed since the passage of storm Therese. Despite this progress, the group has announced that at the next plenary session of the island corporation, they will question the governing team about their plans for the El Rejo road.

"We will ask the governing team what plans they have for the El Rejo road, which is a route that frequently presents problems every time it rains, and that generates closures for safety reasons."

The socialist group has recalled that this road is essential, as it connects the hamlets of El Cedro with Hermigua. Furthermore, it is a route widely used by both tourists and residents to shorten journeys, making it a road with a considerable volume of traffic.
Likewise, the political formation has shown interest in knowing whether, beyond the announced reopening, the possibility of implementing a project that guarantees greater safety on the road has been considered. The objective would be to prevent recurrent problems that arise during periods of rain or bad weather, which repeatedly affect the road and leave the area isolated.
