The island institution had announced on January 28 the delivery of the first homes in Vallehermoso by April, as well as the tender for the project of 36 homes in Tecina within the following 15 days.
“"We are facing another unfulfilled announcement. April was promised as the date for the delivery of the first homes, and April ends with no news, no keys handed over, and no explanations to the public."
The insular coordinator of Iniciativa por La Gomera (IxLG) pointed out that April has concluded without any housing deliveries, and without any public record of deliveries in Vallehermoso.
Furthermore, the political party representative recalled that four years have passed since the signing of an agreement between Visocan and the Cabildo Insular de La Gomera, without the island's citizens having seen any tangible benefits in housing.
“"Millions of public resources have been committed within an agreement signed between two institutions controlled by the Agrupación Socialista Gomera (ASG), but the reality is that no housing has been delivered yet. A lot of money announced, a lot of institutional propaganda, and no keys in the hands of Gomera families."
The party regrets the rejection by the Agrupación Socialista Gomera (ASG) of their proposal in the Cabildo to create an island housing consortium. This initiative would seek to promote the construction of public housing in a planned and participatory manner between administrations and the private sector, also focusing on rehabilitation in rural areas.
