XXII Hermigua – La Carbonera Hill Climb Presented, Returns to Spanish Cup

The XXII Hermigua – La Carbonera Hill Climb has been officially presented in Hermigua, La Gomera, confirming its inclusion for the second consecutive year in the Spanish Mountain Cup, with registrations open until May.
The Centro Socio – Cultural Antiguo Casino de Hermigua hosted the official presentation of the XXII Hermigua – La Carbonera Hill Climb, an event that has already opened its registration period. This motorsport competition, which is part of the Spanish Mountain Cup for the second consecutive year, promises a day with five heats, offering an additional incentive for both drivers and fans.

During the event, Juan Luis Alonso, president of Escudería Gomera Racing, expressed his gratitude to institutions and collaborators, while emphasizing the importance of safety measures for spectators. For his part, Pablo Estévez, representative of the Inter-island Automobile Federation of S/C de Tenerife, highlighted the support from the Cabildo and local councils, underscoring the significance of La Gomera hosting a round of the Spanish Cup.

The Councilor for Culture and Education of the Alajeró City Council, Elena Ramos, congratulated the racing team for organizing the event, considering it a “very important” fixture at both island and regional levels. Aday Herrera, Sports Councilor for the San Sebastián de La Gomera City Council, highlighted the pleasure of collaborating in promoting motorsport, which “is growing in terms of competitors and followers on our island,” and noted that this is the “longest-running event on the island.”
The Deputy Mayor and Sports Councilor of Hermigua, Sergio Chávez, expressed his satisfaction with the event being held in his municipality and assured the necessary support for the competition. Finally, Guillermo Medina, Sports Councilor for the Cabildo de La Gomera, closed the event, emphasizing the honor of the presentation and the value the race brings to the island's capacity to organize high-level events, in addition to its contribution to local economic revitalization.
The registration period for the XXII Hermigua – La Carbonera Hill Climb opened on April 6. Those interested in regularity sport have until April 29 at 2:00 PM to register, while other participants can do so until May 6 at 2:00 PM. Escudería Gomera Racing reminds participants that the process must be completed through the system established by the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation (RFEDA). The event is supported by various institutions and sponsors, including the Cabildo de La Gomera, the city councils of Hermigua, San Sebastián, and Alajeró, the Government of the Canary Islands, and companies such as Archiauto Ford and Naviera Armas.
