The island's president, Casimiro Curbelo, emphasized that the fair aims to promote and market the island's artisanal production, creating a meeting point for sector professionals and citizens, and valuing traditional crafts.
Cristina Ventura, the insular counselor for Crafts, announced that the registration period closes on October 13th. The fair will feature a total of 66 stalls: 52 for artisans and 14 for food companies. Participation from artisans from other islands will be permitted if space is available.
Eligible participants include artisans with a valid ID card issued by the Cabildo de La Gomera, as well as artisanal food producers who meet the requirements, including a food handler's certificate and the relevant registration.
Applications must be submitted to the General Registry of the Cabildo, through electronic means or the Institution's Electronic Office. Required photographs must be sent to the email address artesania@lagomera.es. Communications regarding the selection process will be published on the Cabildo's institutional website.
Artisan documentation includes a copy of their ID, valid artisan card, application form, responsible declaration, and five photographs of the pieces intended for exhibition, along with images of their own branded packaging if applicable. Food companies need to provide ID or CIF, food handler's certificate, valid health registration, and a list of products to be exhibited.
Participant selection will be based on criteria such as product quality, traditional craftsmanship, innovative designs, own packaging, online presence, self-employed status in the craft sector, and for food businesses, adherence to the ‘Alimentos de La Gomera’ quality seal. In case of a tie, applications will be prioritized based on their submission order.
