The company, dependent on the island institution, ended September with 27,891 travelers. The President of the Cabildo, Casimiro Curbelo, highlighted that public transport is an essential service for mobility in La Gomera, facilitating daily commutes and access to strategic services.
Monitoring passenger data allows for the adjustment of frequencies and schedules to meet demand. Figures show increases on several key routes, including line 1 (Valle Gran Rey-San Sebastián) with 7.05% more passengers, and line 2 (Vallehermoso-San Sebastián) with 7.97%.
Line 6 (Valle Gran Rey-airport) saw an 18.28% rise in passengers, and line 8 (Vallehermoso-Valle Gran Rey) also showed positive growth. Of the over 268,000 passengers, more than 172,000 used the travel card.
Over the past year, twelve new buses have been added, increasing the fleet to 24 vehicles. A new mobile application has been launched for checking routes, schedules, and estimated arrival times, and the image of airport connections has been renewed.
A new service plan will soon be implemented, increasing regular public transport frequencies by approximately 30%, adapting the service to growing demand and mobility needs.
