The IES Puntagorda, located in La Palma, will incorporate the Higher Level Training Cycle in Social Integration into its educational offerings, to be delivered in a blended learning format during the afternoon from the next academic year.

This new training initiative aims to foster educational and social development in the western region of La Palma, a predominantly rural area. The primary goal is to diversify study options and prevent students from having to travel long distances to continue their academic training.
The Higher Level Training Cycle in Social Integration prepares students to design, implement, and evaluate interventions aimed at improving the quality of life for individuals and groups in vulnerable situations. Professional opportunities span areas such as social services, community intervention, mediation, and diversity care.
One of the most notable features is the inclusion of a dual training period in workplaces, which facilitates the acquisition of practical experience and improves job placement, preferably within the island environment. The blended learning modality, a first for the center, is a key innovation, allowing access to training for students from different parts of the island and reducing the need for daily commutes. Furthermore, this flexibility helps balance studies with work and family life, opening doors to new student profiles, including adults seeking to enhance their professional qualifications.

This initiative not only expands training opportunities but also represents an advancement in educational modernization in rural areas, incorporating flexible and innovative methodologies adapted to current needs.

In addition to this new cycle, IES Puntagorda will offer other training programs for the 2026/2027 academic year, including the Intermediate Level Training Cycle in Telecommunications Installations (1st and 2nd year), Intermediate Level Training Cycle in Auxiliary Nursing Care (1st and 2nd year), Intermediate Level Training Cycle in Cooking and Gastronomy (1st and 2nd year), Basic Vocational Training in Electricity and Electronics (1st and 2nd year), Intermediate Level Training Cycle in Oils and Wines (1st year), and the Higher Level Training Cycle in Early Childhood Education (1st and 2nd year).
The pre-registration period for these training cycles will run from April 9 to 24. IES Puntagorda encourages all interested individuals to formalize their pre-registration through the center's official channels or via the link provided by the Government of Canarias.
