Airline Jet2 has commenced operations in La Palma with a new year-round route from Manchester, aiming to strengthen British tourism on the Canary Island.
The low-cost airline Jet2, headquartered in Leeds, has begun operating on the Isla Bonita with the goal of increasing the influx of tourists from the United Kingdom. This agreement, promoted by the Cabildo de La Palma, was officially presented on Friday, April 10.
The air connection with Manchester will operate throughout the year, with flights scheduled for every Monday and Friday. The inaugural flight from the British city to La Palma registered 100% occupancy, demonstrating market interest.

"This agreement marks a before and after in our Island's connectivity strategy. Today we not only celebrate the arrival of a leading company like Jet2 and its tour operator, but we also celebrate the consolidation of a tourism model that is demonstrating admirable strength and recovery capacity. The launch of the route from Manchester, with that first flight at 100% occupancy, is the best sign that the British market wants to discover La Palma."
Jet2 is recognized as a key player in the Anglo-Saxon market for the Canary Islands. Since the inception of its first route in 2005, the airline has transported over 14 million passengers to the archipelago, accounting for approximately 40% of British tourist arrivals. The company is valued for its experience and market knowledge, which is considered a guarantee of success.
From November 6, Jet2 will expand its operations with a new connection to London-Stansted, while maintaining year-round flights with Manchester. Additionally, Jet2holidays, the associated tour operator, will collaborate directly with hotel establishments in Los Cancajos, Puerto Naos, and Tazacorte, in La Palma.
