The CajaCanarias Foundation, as part of its “Spring in the Foundation” series, continues its “Creative Talks,” an initiative designed to explore creative processes and their impact on contemporary society. The upcoming event will feature the participation of philosopher José Carlos Ruiz.
The lecture, titled The Art of Thinking, will take place on Thursday, April 9, at 6:30 PM at the CajaCanarias Cultural Space in La Palma. Admission will be free until full capacity is reached, offering a unique opportunity to reflect on the foundations of critical thought.
The session will invite attendees to delve into critical thinking as a fundamental pillar of creativity. Various dynamics will be explored to understand how reasoning processes are constructed and how a solid and conscious critical mind can be developed. In an ever-evolving educational environment, creativity is positioned as an essential tool for learning, adaptation, and generating innovative solutions.
José Carlos Ruiz holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Seville and a doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Córdoba, where he currently teaches. His career includes periods as a visiting professor at academic institutions in Colombia, Portugal, Mexico, Ecuador, and Argentina. He is an expert in fostering critical thinking in educational and corporate contexts, and the author of works such as The Art of Thinking, From Plato to Batman: A Manual for Educating with Wisdom and Values, and Philosophy in the Face of Discouragement.
