The inaugural day of La Palma Fashion Week 2026 brought together representatives from Adlib Ibiza, Gran Canaria Moda Cálida, La Gomera Moda y Magia, Lanzarote Moda, and Tenerife Moda at the Benahoarita Archaeological Museum in Los Llanos de Aridane, alongside firms from Isla Bonita Moda and students from the Manolo Blahnik Art School. The event unfolds under the theme “Beauty is reborn without limits”.
The proposals from Adlib Ibiza opened the fashion shows in a collective presentation that included firms such as Mónica Maxim Ibiza and Piluca Bayarri. Subsequently, collections were presented by BAN (Isla Bonita Moda) in collaboration with Mignono (Lanzarote Moda); Sirago (Gran Canaria Moda Cálida); Savitri (La Gomera Moda y Magia); Inmaculada Rodrigues (Tenerife Moda); and the "Solajero” Swimwear Collection by Isla Bonita Moda, a swimwear project inspired by the sun's journey across La Palma.
The program was completed with the participation of Zahy, a new talent in collaboration with the Manolo Blahnik Art School, and a collective fashion show by the school's students, who presented their work in a professional setting under the direction of Verania Sánchez.
The Benahoarita Archaeological Museum also hosted an exhibition that showcased the creative and artisanal work of firms associated with Isla Bonita Moda, including Mararte, Sara Luis Joyas, and Silvia Baly, among others. This exhibition allowed attendees to discover their pieces in a display context.
The opening of this edition underscores Isla Bonita Moda's focus on creating connections between professionals, fashion programs, and island territories. The inaugural day was hosted by model and presenter Jose Toledo, a member of the Isla Bonita Moda Guarantee Committee.
Among the attendees were figures such as Carmen Farala, a designer and television personality, and Rocío Martín Berrocal, an entrepreneur. Also present were designer Juan Duyos, president of the Spanish Fashion Creators Association (ACME), and Sergio Álvarez, director of the Spanish Fashion Academy Foundation.
The event is supported by entities such as Canarias Islas de Moda, from the Government of the Canary Islands through Proexca, and Sebastian Professional. La Palma Fashion Week aims to connect the island's talent with other territories and the Spanish fashion industry, fostering collaboration and visibility for contemporary proposals with unique identities.
Miriam Perestelo, Minister of Economic Promotion of the Island Council of La Palma, highlighted the importance of consolidating fashion as an economic driver and creator of opportunities. "La Palma Fashion Week is the result of years of work to support our firms and all the professionals who are part of this ecosystem," she stated. She noted that collaboration with professionals and projects from other territories demonstrates the island's capacity to build a projecting industry.
The minister also valued the project's educational and professional dimension and the participation of invited fashion programs, indicating that "fashion allows us to generate new connections, open opportunities, and showcase all the talent that exists on our island beyond La Palma".
The program will continue tomorrow, Saturday, October 3rd, with another day of fashion shows and presentations featuring new talents and firms associated with Isla Bonita Moda.
