Manuel González, current Second Deputy Mayor and spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the Tazacorte City Council, has expressed his satisfaction with the progress of this project. He highlighted that the initiative originated in 2024, during his tenure as mayor, when land designated as a green zone but in a degraded state was made available to the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
González emphasized the collaborative spirit of the Tazacorte municipal government, which prioritized citizens' interests above any partisanship. He stated that the well-being of people, environmental and social improvement, employment, and the development of the municipality have been fundamental pillars of this government agreement.
“"Where there was once rubble, we will be able to enjoy a green area of more than 2,500 square meters, with an accessible park, trees; gardens and shaded paths; a children's play area and pet area, or a water sheet of more than 170 square meters."
The creation of this space, which will allow the re-naturalization of a plot in Puerto de Tazacorte, is seen by González as a reflection of his management approach, based on dialogue and consensus with administrations to prioritize the general interest. He expressed optimism about the imminent realization of this public space, designed to promote sustainability and the fight against climate change.
The PSOE spokesperson concluded by emphasizing his conviction that Tazacorte's progress is achieved through unity and understanding among institutions, with representatives exclusively dedicated to serving the citizenry, setting aside partisan interests.
