The Canary Islands Housing Institute (ICAVI) has launched the new Bono Alquiler Joven call for the 2026-2027 period, aimed at individuals between 18 and 35 years old. The main objective is to help young people cover the rent for their habitual residence, thereby facilitating their emancipation.
The financial aid can reach up to 250 euros per month, totaling up to 6,000 euros distributed over 24 months. To access this subsidy, applicants must be of legal age, residents of the Canary Islands, have a rental contract, and have annual income in 2025 not exceeding three times the Public Indicator of Multiple Effects Income (IPREM). This limit is extended to four times the IPREM for general category large families, people with disabilities, or victims of terrorism, and up to five times for special category large families and individuals with a recognized disability of 33% or higher.
The maximum monthly rent for eligible rentals varies by municipality of residence, with limits set at 900, 750, or 600 euros, and 450, 375, or 300 euros for room rentals. The subsidy will be paid semi-annually after rent payment justification, although it may be paid retroactively if corresponding receipts are provided.
The call has a global budget of 12,878,000 euros. Of this amount, 10,600,000 euros come from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, while 2,278,000 euros correspond to funding from the councils of Lanzarote and La Graciosa and Tenerife. For Lanzarote and La Graciosa, 378,000 euros from unexecuted credits from the 2025 Bono Alquiler Joven call are integrated. The Tenerife Council contributes 1.9 million euros.
Applications can be submitted within 15 business days, from September 18 to October 8, 2026, preferably online through the electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands.
